Musician / Composer
Jerry is a musician, artist, and filmmaker who has been a driving force in the world of music for over four decades. He co-founded Devo in the early 1970s with his bandmates Mark Mothersbaugh and Bob Lewis, and the band quickly became known for their unique blend of punk rock, new wave, and electronic music. Devo's satirical lyrics and inventive visuals helped to define the post-punk era, and they remain an influential force in music to this day.
In addition to his work with Devo, Casale has also had a successful solo career, releasing albums such as "Everybody's Kissing Everyone" and "Late Late Late Night" and his newest album "The Invisible Man." He has also directed music videos for a number of artists, including Rush and Soundgarden.
What sets him apart is his unique point of view. He has always been interested in exploring the darker side of human nature, and his art reflects this fascination. He has often been compared to filmmakers like David Lynch and artists like Francis Bacon, and his work is known for its surreal and often disturbing imagery.
On this episode, Jerry and I discussed a range of topics, from the state of the music industry to the current political climate. He also talked about his own experiences as an artist and shared some insights into the creative process.
As always Jerry continues to be a driving force for good, and always comes to the show with fascinating and engaging conversation. Fans of Devo and anyone interested in a truly unique point of view will enjoy this thought-provoking interview.
