He is best known for his work on "Saturday Night Live" (SNL), where he created the popular "TV Funhouse" animated segments and the character Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Smigel started his career as a writer for SNL in the mid-1980s and quickly became known for his sharp wit and unique comedic style.
